The objective of this article is, first of all, to point out some of the most important handicaps which affect specialized research and which can come to distort the view of CataLan culture in the digital era. Scientific reflection implies an attitude of skepticism and suspicion which permit the researcher to go beyond superficial and cliched readings and which, above all, help to break with a series of deeply-rooted taboos which distort one's view of reality.
