Funding Sources Policy

According to the COPE discussion document Declaring funding sources for Research, funding statements must include the exact sources of research funding and the identity of authors supported by a specific grant. The activities supported by the grant should also be included.

AI Policy

According to the COPE Declaration guidelines and best practices within the scientific community:

  • AI tools cannot fulfill authorship criteria, as they cannot take responsibility for scientific content.

  • They cannot manage conflicts of interest, copyright issues, or make ethical decisions on their own.

The Tripodos editorial team reserves the right to subject manuscripts to one or more authentication tests. 

Below are general instructions and guidelines for the use of AI in Tripodos, for authors, and reviewers.

For Authors

Tripodos will only accept the use of AI specifically for translation, reference searching, and perform analyses. It must be properly cited in the references section, following the journal's citation format.

Authors who use AI tools must be transparent and explain how they were used in the attached document (First Page) that must be completed and submitted together with the manuscript (available in the guidelines for authors). The final responsibility for the content of a manuscript always lies with the authors, including those parts produced by an AI tool.

For Reviewers

AI can serve as a complementary tool, but the final evaluation, critical judgment, identification of scientific relevance, and decision regarding publication must be carried out by a human reviewer. AI cannot replace the reviewer’s experience, field knowledge, and ethics.

Reviewers who use AI tools must be transparent and explain how they were used in the corresponding section of the review template.

If reviewers suspect that a manuscript has been generated by AI, they should report it to the editor for further investigation.
