The author believes that the intellectual evolution of Néstor Luján is mirrored in the myths of the early romantic novels of the 19th century, in which the protagonist -young and rebellious- normally challenges society which brings him to have to decide between betraying himself or destroying himselt. An article by Luián himself; published in Destino in December 1947, serves as a starting point to justify this nypotheisis. In this article Luján announces that, forced by circumstances, he has decided to change his way of writing. The author reconstructs this earlier Luián by means of two personal diaries and his journalistic Walk, juxtaposed with the mediatic Luián of the 80s and 90s. This permits him to present a character wrenched by two contradictory attitudes to life: one tragic and one comic.
