Existència per contrast. La natura psicoacústica del silenci
Abstract
Sound and silence share the same psychoacoustical nature. Nevertheless, we normally analyze them as opposite and contrary phenomena. Yet both sound and silence require temporality, linear perception and contrast in order to be cognitively distinguished and understood. Contrast, as the essence of silence, also gives a greater variation of ways to describe sound, taking silence to be “no-sound” and thus permitting the existence of partial silence. Being aware of and applying this psychoacoustical essence of silence is all that is needed to be able to carry out an accurate audiovisual analysis of this expressive code.KEY WORDS: sound, silence, phsico-acoustical, audiovisual analysis. PARAULES CLAU: so, silenci, psicoacústica, anàlisi audiovisual.Downloads
